A practical trading card inspection sequence
A repeatable capture, examination and reporting sequence using Inspector’s existing tools.
Capture and identify
Begin with the full card and a clear intake name. Record the front and reverse before relying on close-ups. Keep some contrasting background around every edge if you want automatic boundary checks.
Inspect focus and glare before measuring. Keep the original scan; crop or rotate only through the preview-and-apply controls so you can restore it.
Examine systematically
Review the four corners, edges and surface under appropriate views and physical lighting. Keep Normal available beside filtered views. A filter changes presentation; it does not automatically establish damage.
Check detected card boundaries and centering guides. For physical measurements, calibrate against a known reference at the same image scale and setup. If a boundary cannot be verified, improve the capture rather than treating a failed check as an accepted result.
Record and retain
Place a marker, write a specific observation and attach useful evidence to its location. Distinguish an observed mark from something that still needs rechecking.
Preview the customer report, save or export the project, then reopen it. A browser draft is a convenience in the same browser; an independently downloaded project or report gives you another retained copy.
